COOU SCHOLARS SHINE AT INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH INITIATIVES CONFERENCE IN ACCRA, GHANA

In alignment with the Values, Viability, and Visibility (3Vs) policy drive of the Prof. Kate Azuka Omenugha-led administration, academic staff from Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), Anambra State, made impact at the International Research Initiatives Conference (IRIC) held in Kokomlemle, Accra, Ghana, from Monday, 20th, to Wednesday, 22nd July, 2026.

Themed “Advancing Innovation in Education, Agriculture, Health, and Industry,” IRIC 2026 brought together multidisciplinary scholars from across Africa, enhancing cross-border dialogue and collaboration.

COOU’s delegation included:

Prof. Nneka Nnorom - Director, Academic Planning; Prof. Sylvia Okonkwo - Deputy Vice-Chancellor Development and Uli Campus Affairs; Prof. John Paul Iloh - Director, ICT; Prof. Joy Okeke-Ezeanyanwu - Head, Department of Vocational Education; Prof. Ikechukwu Asika - Head, Department of English.

Others are, Dr. Harrison Madubueze - the Public Relations Officer; Dr. Gideon Nwafor - Head, Department of Mass Communication; Dr. Ifunanya Ohamobi - Member, Junior Staff Disciplinary Committee; Dr. Stella Afulukwe - Head, Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences; and Dr Emma Onyebueke - Head, Department of Industrial Physics.

The COOU's strong presence underscored its growing reputation as a hub of academic excellence and research innovation on the African continent.
