COOU JOINS AI AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT DISCOURSE AT ARCATU 2026 CONFERENCE, ACCRA, GHANA

Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University delegation successfully participated in the 2nd Applied Research Conference of Accra Technical University (ARCATU 2026) held from 16th - 19th September, 2026 at Accra Technical University, Ghana.

The conference was themed “APPLIED RESEARCH AND INNOVATION FOR SUSTAINABLE AND RESILIENT DEVELOPMENT IN THE ERA OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI)” and attracted over 331 submissions, with 250 papers presented.

The COOU delegation was led by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration and Environmental Sustainability, Prof. Anselem C. Nweke, alongside Prof. Chinyere Umeaku, Dr. Chukwunonso Ekesiobi, Dr. Adaobi M. Ibekwe, Dr. Chinwe Enemuo and Dr. Chineze Jacobs.

All abstracts from the team were accepted and presented as part of joining the global conversation on how applied research and AI can drive sustainable development as well as influence public policy on the African continent.

Notably, this outing is part of the intentional pursuit of visibility expansion for COOU in line with the 3Vs Agenda - Values, Viability and Visibility, Viability of the University Management ably led by our dear Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kate Azuka Omenugha, FNIPR.

We are proud of our team for flying the COOU flag high on the continental stage. These strategic engagements will continue to propel our dear University to greater heights as the Now University and of the Future.
